The Glass House is the regional winner of the LABC Building Excellence Award 2021 West Midlands Region and has been featured in Self Build and Design Magazine and Build It Magazine. It is another example of a project that encompasses what is achievable working alongside the clients and architects collaboratively. Built as a split-level kitchen extension to this Grade II listed farmhouse this space works harmoniously with its surroundings giving an all year round outside living feel. The traditional and contemporary construction elements work in harmony together creating a stunning living space.

A new build dream house in a dream location. Situated on a lakes edge this property was a complete blank canvass for our clients. The existing property was demolished to make way for this luxurious family home and it is a wonderful example of what can be achieved with working in partnership with clients, architects and contractors. The Mere has been designed and built to make the most of its picturesque surroundings encompassing spacious modern living alongside a cosy comfortable feel. As soon as you walk through the front door you are greeted with an abundance of light and your eye is drawn to the mesmerising lakeside views. Every room is decorated to perfection and presents with show home grandeur. It’s been an absolute pleasure to be part of this project we are exceptionally proud to have built this fantastic home.

This delightful barn conversion is a wonderful example of how these beautiful old buildings can be eloquently restored to make way for modern living. This barn conversion has so many elements we love, the Braise Soleil, the floor to ceiling glazing, discreet solar panels, internal and external fireplaces, the zinc roof and burnt timber cladding. It all works wonderfully together. The brickwork has been lovingly restored and each raw material contrasts beautifully with the next. This is one of our favourites and has been so interesting to work on and bring to life the vision of the clients and the architects.

A total full house transformation and extension with a modern twist. This grand farmhouse had an abundance of period features that the clients wanted to continue throughout their home. We added a huge vaulted kitchen extension, living and dining space, along with a master bedroom, dressing room and ensuite. The design was modern but encompassed the traditional features of the original farmhouse, the connection between the two was seamless.

This beautiful traditionally build oak framed porchway extension connected the main farmhouse and annexe, providing the clients with a sheltered walkway and social area. This area includes a covered well feature and burnt wooden cladding which adds texture and interest to the space. The warm up- lighting further enhances this sheltered outdoor area.

One of Contrak Limited’s first every projects. This Grade II listed converted stable block from the now demolished Butterton Hall was where it all began. The project took approximately three years to complete and laid a foundation for our future projects. Complete with a swimming pool, spa, bar, banquet style dining room and beautifully landscaped gardens this property is one we are incredibly proud of.

This beautiful barn conversion in leafy Cheshire showcases Contrak Construction’s blend of craftsmanship and creativity. We transformed the space into a stunning family home with a traditional brick and oak extension, complete with a decorative steel frame. A bespoke glazed starlink now encloses the original external staircase, seamlessly bringing it indoors and adding warmth, light, and character to the heart of the home.

This grand property underwent a modern kitchen and living space extension as well as guest accommodation in the back garden. Typically these older properties aren’t functional for the modern family. We added a kitchen diner and living space, along with a downstairs shower room and laundry room. This extension also boasts bifolding doors for that indoor outdoor living.

A wonderful barn conversion that was commissioned to connect the farmhouse to an old granary barn intended for an older relative, this barn would provide them with their own private living area, bedroom, ensuite and kitchen yet also be connected to the main house to enjoy family time together. The barn is located in a conservation area in a rural Staffordshire village and has a lot of tractional features including an old stone staircase and a beehive oven that is now a quirky feature in the kitchen. This is one of the best examples of space utilisation, a finalist in the LABC awards for the best change of use of an existing building it was an absolute pleasure to work on.

Another award winner, this purpose build eco home involved the demolition of a 1960’s bungalow to make way for age proof living for our clients. Already this property had a well-established manicured back garden, the new house had to fit into the existing footprint. With solar roof tiles, a ground source heat pump and underfloor heating this property is economical to run. The large windows the light floods in and the and open plan design create a wonderful feeling of space.

This barn conversion was an absolute pleasure, nestled in the grounds of the now demolished Shawe Park Hall this whole site was steeped in history and surrounded by memories of a once grand country estate. Our client was downsizing and required single-story living. The barn it traditional in looks with all the modern conveniences such as underfloor heating, solar panels and a ground source heat pump.

Nestled in the beautiful Staffordshire countryside these gated four barn conversions provide spacious single story living. Elegantly designed internally and externally these homes boast underfloor heating, solar panels, air source heat pumps and have been designed to be an environmentally conscious as possible.

This derelict farmhouse had been in the family of our clients for generations. Extremely dilapidated and Grade II listed it was in need of incredible modernisation. The clients wanted a contemporary feel inside and due to the Grade II classification it had to look traditional on the outside. This house boasts all the modern comforts. This stunning property has a ground source heat pump, multi car garage and gym.

We love working for other businesses and this office extension project has been a great addition to our portfolio. Ever conscious about our environmental footprint we like to recycle and source locally where we can. This timber was grown and machined on site and for every tree that is felled another is replanted. The finished result here is an environmentally sensitive construction creating a functional working space for a growing business.

Contrak Construction carried out full groundworks in preparation for a new steel-framed commercial unit for Today’s Tools, ensuring the site was expertly prepared for structural installation. Our scope included excavation, foundations, drainage, ducting, and sub-base works — all delivered to tight deadlines and high specification. Working closely with the client and contractors on site, we ensured smooth coordination and safe working practices throughout, setting a strong foundation for the next stage of development.

Contrak Construction delivered the groundworks and steel frame extension to KDM Events’ commercial premises, expanding their operational space with minimal disruption to daily activity. Our team handled excavation, foundations, drainage, and the full steel frame installation, coordinating closely with the client to ensure a smooth process from start to finish. With a strong focus on quality, safety, and timing, we created a durable, future-proof structure that supports KDM Events’ continued growth.

Contrak Construction were proud to support Wacker Neuson, an innovative international company, with a major groundworks project at their Staffordshire site. We transformed a 5,000m² brownfield area into a surfaced, secure equipment storage zone, complete with integrated security ducting. This carefully planned transformation supports their operational efficiency while preparing the site for further development. With Phase 2 now underway, including the reconstruction of a roadway and installation of deep drainage, we’re continuing to deliver high-quality infrastructure that supports long-term growth.

We have been involved in community projects for Chesterton Community Angling Club. It’s been a honour for us to contribute to the local community modernising the local fishing pools to enable disabled anglers access to this wonderful local facility.

This building was once a well known high street bank. We renovated and modernised it into brand new spacious offices for Northwood Properties. It has morphed from a dilapidated 1960’s brick building into offices flooded with light and wonderful clean modern feel.

One of our most high pressured jobs, we had to do a restaurant kitchen extension and dining room refurbishment in a short space of time. We were on tight deadlines as weddings and functions were booked in we had to hit the target and complete on time. Organisation, communication and time management was key here and thankfully we completed the task with time to spare.

Like many of our customers our clients here needed more space the only way they could do that due to planning restrictions was to go down. What is housed here is a fitness suite and recording studio. This project was all about the technicalities and meticulous careful construction. Although what was built can’t be showcased like some of our other projects, what has been achieved here has to be applauded. Again, working hand in hand with the architects, specialist contractors and the clients the project will be a success.
